The Non-sporting Group - This group consists of a diverse array
of dog breeds ranging from the Dalmatian to the Shiba Inu. To be perfectly
honest with you, this seems to be the catchall group where dog breeds that
don't really fit in other groups go. Pretty much every dog breed in this group
has something different going on as far as size, coat, personality and overall
appearance are concerned.
Dog breed standards that define "ideal" dogs in these breeds can be found at
the AKC website, though bear in mind there is rarely a dog that measures up
exactly to every specification of its standard.
